A bit about me
Based in Stoke-on-Trent. Engineer by training, leader by practice, and involved in local music and the arts outside work.
Roger Foxcroft
Fractional CTO and founder of Softfox Ltd
I've spent three decades in technical leadership roles across small, medium and enterprise organisations, most recently as Engineering Director at Taylor & Francis, where I led teams in the UK and Bangalore and the shift to AI-first software delivery. Before that I held architecture and delivery leadership roles at Pearson, Home Retail Group and Reckitt Benckiser.
In April 2026 I founded Softfox Ltd to bring that experience to smaller organisations: practical, people-first, and without the jargon. Alongside consultancy I'm building Safeguard, and I'm a Principal at Freeman Clarke, providing fractional CTO leadership.
Away from the day job I help run A Major Music, our family music shop, chair Stafford District Arts Council, and support Musical Youth Theatre Stafford.
